Suspect wanted for hitting pedestrian with vehicle

 

RENO -- A vehicle accident on Sunday left a pedestrian seriously injured while the driver, who fled the scene, is still on the loose.

  Sunday morning at around 5:30, Reno Police responded to the 3800 block of South Virginia St on the report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian, major injury hit and run.  Responding officers located the unconscious victim in the roadway.  The suspect fled from the area prior to police responding.    Based on the severity of the victim’s injuries, the Reno Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation’s Team (MAIT) will be conducting the investigation.  At this time there is no information on the driver or hit and run vehicle.       The victim, a male Reno resident, was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.  His identity is being withheld pending notification of family.    Investigators learned that several witnesses may have driven or walked through the area after the incident.  The investigation is ongoing and the Reno Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s).    Anyone having information relating to this crime or the suspect(s) should contact the Reno Police Department at 334-2115, Secret Witness at 322-4900,www.secretwitness.com, or text the tip to 847411 (TIP 411) keyword - SW
