Free RTC rides on St. Patrick's Day

RENO --  To encourage a safe St. Patrick’s Day, RTC  will offer free transit services from 4 p.m. to midnight, Sunday, March 17.

The free transit on RTC Ride, Rapid and Connect and the extension of RTC Sierra Spirit service until midnight is made possible thanks to sponsors who have funded transit service for the evening.

Several groups came together to fund the event and support the statewide initiative Zero Fatalities Drive Safe Nevada. The Northern Nevada DUI Task Force, Ceol Irish Pub, KOLO 8 TV, and Cumulus radio stations Magic 95.5, K-Bull 98.1, Wild 102.9 and KOH News Talk AM 780 made the transit service possible with the goal of helping to reduce impaired driving and the tragic consequences of one bad decision. Joining them to promote the Safe RIDE program are many pubs, bars and gaming properties.

Sunday transit schedules are in effect. Free service is not available on RTC Access and RTC Intercity.  For route and schedule information go to www.rtcwashoe.com or call 348-RIDE.
