Student athletes excel in Fall sports

RENO -- Student athletes in the Washoe County School District (WCSD) are celebrating a successful fall season with state titles in cross country, soccer, volleyball, and golf.

Incline High School girls won the team state championship in cross country. “I am so proud of the girls and the tremendous effort they made this season,” said Bill Devine, cross country coach at Incline High School. “This is the team’s fourth consecutive state championship, and I am happy with the way the team upheld this tradition at our school.”

Jordan Cardenas from Reno High School garnered the individual regional and state championship in cross country, while McQueen High School girls and Galena High School boys also brought home regional cross country championships for their divisions.

In football, Reed High School won the regional title. “It was a great year, and I’m so proud of the kids,” said Reed football coach Ernie Howren. “We’re just blessed to have the young men we have playing for us.”
