Bengals' Henry Suspended

Posted: 11:38 am PDT October 6, 2006

(Sports Network) - The National Football League suspended Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry without pay for the team's next two games.

Henry was penalized for violating the NFL's personal conduct and substance abuse policies. He was also fined $20,000.

The former West Virginia star has been arrested four times in the past year and was a passenger in the vehicle when Bengals' linebacker Odell Thurman was arrested and charged with drunken driving nearly two weeks ago. The NFL has already suspended Thurman for the rest of the season.

Henry will be held out of practices as well as the team's next two games but will be allowed to attend meetings and to work out at team facilities.

During the suspension, Henry will be placed on the reserve/suspended list and will not count against the team's 53-man roster limit. Henry will be eligible to rejoin the Bengals' active roster on October 23.

In three games this season, the dynamic receiver has 11 receptions for 177 yards and two touchdowns.
