Broncos Re-Sign Burns

Posted: 1:06 pm PST March 29, 2006

(Sports Network) - The Denver Broncos have re-signed linebacker Keith Burns to a one-year contract.

Financial terms of the deal for the unrestricted free agent were not disclosed.

Burns has spent all but two of his 12 NFL seasons with the Broncos. He has played mostly on special teams and in a reserve role, but last year started one game at middle linebacker.

The veteran from Oklahoma State was a seventh-round pick by the Broncos in 1994. He left as a free agent for Chicago in 1999, then returned to Denver the following year. After spending 2004 with Tampa Bay, Burns was again signed by the Broncos as a free agent before the 2005 campaign.
