Stars Give Qualifying Offer To Eriksson

POSTED: 10:45 am PDT June 26, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Dallas Stars extended qualifying offers to six players on Thursday, including forward Loui Eriksson.

The 22-year-old Eriksson tallied 14 goals and 17 assists in 69 games with the Stars last season.

Also receiving qualifying offers were forwards B.J. Crombeen, Vojtech Polak, Konstantin Pushkarev and Francis Wathier, along with defenseman Vadim Khomitski.

All six players are scheduled to become restricted free agents if not signed by July 1. However, Dallas retains the right of first refusal or draft choice compensation should that respective player sign an offer sheet with another NHL club.

The Stars decided against giving qualifying offers to forwards Marius Holtet and Janos Vas, and defenseman Jussi Timonen. All three of those players will now become unrestricted free agents on July 1.
