Sharks Re-Sign D Ehrhoff

San Jose, CA -- (Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Christian Ehrhoff to a three-year contract, the team announced on Wednesday. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.Ehrhoff, 26, notched a goal and 21 assists for 22 points in 77 games for the Sharks last season, in addition to leading the team with 108 blocked shots. He also appeared in 10 playoff games, picking up five assists and playing more than 23 minutes per game despite an injured ankle. "Christian is an extremely competitive person and we've liked his development as a player," said Sharks general manager Doug Wilson. "He got injured late in the regular season and showed a great deal of heart by playing through the playoffs. We expect him to continue to get better and be a big contributor for this organization." The 6-foot-2, 205-pound German has played in 264 regular season games over four seasons, recording 17 goals and 73 assists for 90 points, good for eighth all-time among San Jose blueliners.
