Philadelphia Remains Dominant Army-Navy Host

Posted: 1:35 pm PDT June 9, 2009

(Sports Network) - Philadelphia will host five of the next eight Army-Navy football games, the Naval Academy announced on Tuesday.

The rival duel between the two military academies will take place at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Eagles, in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017.

In 2011, the game will be held in Washington's FedEx Field, home of the Redskins, in 2011 and the Baltimore Ravens' M&T Bank Stadium will host the event in 2014 and 2016.

"We are grateful to the cities that came forward with extraordinary enthusiasm and extended unprecedented commitments in their efforts to attract this classic event," said U.S. Naval Academy director of athletics Chet Gladchuk. "This process reinforced that the Army-Navy game remains an extremely desirable event with the highest level of national respect. The Brigade of Midshipmen, Corps of Cadets, and our most loyal fans will continue to enjoy the pageantry of college football at its best in these great cities with world class facilities and broad based community support."

The Army-Navy game has been played 109 times, with Philadelphia hosting 81 of the games.
