Sharks Extend Qualifying Offer To Clowe, Three Others

Posted: 4:20 pm PDT June 29, 2009

(Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks made a qualifying offer to restricted free agent forward Ryane Clowe on Monday.

Clowe, the Sharks' sixth-round pick in 2001, appeared in a career-high 71 games last season, setting personal highs in goals (22) and assists (30).

Over his four-year career -- all with San Jose -- the 26-year-old has posted 41 goals and 55 assists in addition to 160 penalty minutes in 162 games.

The Sharks also extended qualifying offers to goaltender Thomas Greiss and forwards Torrey Mitchell and Brad Staubitz.

Marcel Goc and Tomas Plihal -- both forwards -- were not given an offer and will become unrestricted free agents on July 1.
