RENO - The University of Nevada women's basketball team (6-7, 1-1 MW) will host in-state rival UNLV (4-10, 1-1 MW) in a "Governor's Series, presented by NV Energy" contest Wednesday evening at Lawlor Events Center. Tip-off is 6:30 p.m.

The Rebels lead the overall series between the two women's basketball programs 26-6 and have won the previous six meetings. Nevada's last victory came at home during the 2007-08 season in an 84-63 win. UNLV is led by junior guard Danielle Miller’s 13.5 points per game.

On October 8, 2012 Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval announced the launch of the Governor's Series, presented by NV Energy. This historic, new competition establishes a formal head-to-head athletic and academic challenge between longtime rivals -- the UNLV Rebels and the Nevada Wolf Pack.

The all-encompassing competition will annually crown one school the winner of the Governor's Series. UNLV currently leads the series 9-3. Nevada earned its three points in cross country.Lady Pack hosts UNLV in hoops tonight
