Pam Cook
Pam Cook brings a unique blend of knowledge and experience to Channel 2. She anchors the "KTVU Channel 2 Morning News" and is charge of the business stories. She learned about Wall Street, finance, and investing, while working on the trading floor of Montgomery Securities, formerly a top West Coast brokerage firm. But, she couldn't stay away from her love of journalism and telling a good story, so she made the job change.
Pam says she's thankful she didn't have to move away to launch her broadcasting career. "The Bay Area is home now, it's such a great place to live and raise a family."
Proud to be a third generation Californian, Pam was born and raised in San Diego where most of her family still lives. She graduated from UCLA with a major in economics and credits that degree and business experience with getting her job here at channel 2. "I always encourage interns to specialize in something; pursue what you really enjoy and it will all come together. If you work at what you love, you will be good at it."
After leaving the trading floor to follow her interest in journalism, she interned and then freelanced at KFTY-50 in Santa Rosa, EXTRA, The Nightly Business Report, Reuters News Service, Associate Press Television, and Comcast Cable in Marin and San Francisco. She's received awards for her work from the Northern California Radio Television News Directors Association, Hometown Cable Excellence, and Bay Area Cable Excellence.
When not in the newsroom, she's hard at work at her favorite job; "Mommy." Most of her free time is spent in the classroom, at the park or jumping rope in the front yard. She and her husband enjoy exploring the Bay Area with their three children.
