Julie Haener
Julie Haener is the co-anchor of The Ten O'Clock News on KTVU Channel 2. The veteran KTVU anchor/reporter co-anchors the Bay Area's top-rated newscast alongside Frank Somerville. The two also co-anchor the award-winning KTVU Channel 2 News at 6.Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her excellence in broadcasting. She has received four Emmy awards while at KTVU including one in 2004 for Best On-Camera News Anchor. In that same year, the American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT) named her as the Best TV On-Air Reporter. In 2002, the Radio Television News Directors Association of Northern California honored the KTVU Channel 2 News at 6 as the Best 30 Minute Newscast.Julie joined the KTVU/FOX news team in 1997. Before moving to the Bay Area she co-anchored a two-hour weekday morning newscast at KIRO-TV in Seattle, where she also hit the streets on a regular basis for live reporting. Prior to that, Julie worked as the primary week-night news anchor and reporter at KJEO-TV in Fresno. She began her career in 1990 at KNDO-TV in Yakima, Washington, where she worked as a reporter, anchor, producer, editor, writer and photographer.Julie grew up in Tacoma, Washington and is a graduate of the University of Washington, where she majored in Broadcast Journalism.Now, as a mother here in the Bay Area, Julie says she couldn't think of a better place for her and her husband to raise their two young sons.Her hobbies include walking, playing tennis, horse-back riding and traveling.
