Ken Wayne

Ken Wayne Ken Wayne has anchored the weekend news at KTVU since 2002.

He started his career at KTVU in 1992 and has covered some of the biggest stories in the Bay Area and California since then. He's been on the scene of floods, fires, earthquakes and almost every major Bay Area story over the past 16 years.

Wayne's covered notorious criminal cases including the Polly Klaas kidnapping and the OJ Simpson trial. He traveled to Argentina for the funeral of Silvina Pelosso, one of the victims of the Yosemite tourist killings.

Ken's also traveled across the country to cover the 9/11 attack in New York, the space shuttle crash in Texas, and the presidential election court battle in Florida. He was also in New Orleans when Bay Area rescue teams assisted Hurricane Katrina victims.

There have been uplifting stories as well. Wayne covered the Giants World Series campaign and flew with the Blue Angels.

Ken has been honored by the regional Emmy's, Associated Press, and national Telly awards.

Ken is a Bay Area native but his family moved across the west. He attended high school on the Nez Perce Indian reservation in Idaho. He began his broadcasting career at the age of 18 with the U.S. Navy and Armed Force Radio and Television. In 1985 he made the transition to commercial TV, working in newsrooms in Palm Springs, Chico, Fresno, Los Angeles and Sacramento.

Ken and his wife Carole are avid travelers, most recently visiting Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. When not going abroad, Ken pilots a small plane for local adventures.

Ken has also collected so much Elvis Presley paraphernalia that his friends are threatening to stage an intervention.
