The Kern County Mountains And The Southeastern Kern County

Desert.



*Winds: Northwest To West 25 To 40 Mph With Gusts As High As

75 Mph. The Strongest Winds Will Be Below Desert Facing

Passes.



*Timing: Strong Winds Will Continue Through And Below Desert

Facing Passes And Canyons With The Strongest Winds This

Afternoon And Evening.



*Locations Include: Rosamond California City Edwards Afb

Mojave Tehachapi Kernville And Lake Isabella.



*Impacts: Very Strong Cross Winds Will Occur At Times

Especially On Highway 14 Near Canyons. Areas Of Blowing Dust

Are Possible. Residents Should Secure Loose Objects That Can

Easily Be Blown Around Such As Trash Cans And Yard Furniture.

The Valley Air District Has Issued A Health Cautionary Statement

For Merced Madera Fresno Kings Tulare And The Valley

Portion Of Kern Counties From Wednesday Afternoon Through This

Evening Due To Blowing Dust Caused By Windy Conditions.



Exposure To Particle Pollution Can Cause Serious Health

Problems Aggravate Lung Disease Cause Asthma Attacks And

Acute Bronchitis And Increase Risk Of Respiratory Infections. In

People With Heart Disease Short-Term Exposure To Particle

Pollution Has Been Linked To Heart Attacks And Arrhythmias

According To The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Children

And Elderly People Are Also More Susceptible To Consequences Of

High Particulate Levels.



Stay Indoors If Possible. Avoid Prolonged Or Strenuous Outdoor

Physical Activities To Reduce The Affects Of Unhealthy Air.
