While I'm not on the front lines (yet) in the Democratic battle in the state of Pennsylvania, a simple review of the ole blackberry shows that the pace is picking up in the Keystone State as we move toward the April 22 primary there.
Just take a look at this sampling of emails from one 24 hour period. The titles are pure entertainment.
"Obama Campaign Statement on Clinton Camp's Attempt to Distance Themselves from Mark Penn."
"Clinton Campaign to Hold Conference Call Unveiling Radio Response to Discredited Obama Ad."
"Obama Campaign Statement on Clinton's Latest Misleading Attack Regarding Iraq,"
"Hillary Clinton Calls on President Bush to Outline Military End Game in Iraq."
I got a chuckle after reading "Pennsylvania For Hillary Launches Five Television Ads Today," because not long after that arrived, in came a new Obama release.
"The Obama campaign has begun airing four new television ads in Pennsylvania," it read. I guess Hillary won that battle 5-4.
On the subject of advertising, I saw one estimate yesterday that said obama has a 3-to-1 advantage in ad money spent in the Keystone State. Once again, The Establishment Candidate - Hillary - finds herself in a financial hole in this race.
As for superdelegates, the Governor of Virginia (an Obama supporter) defended efforts to get his state's superdelegates to all sign on for Obama.
Gov. Tim Kaine says there's nothing wrong with making such a pitch. Heck, you know both sides are doing everything they can to get supers to come their way and I'm sure it includes some offers that might raise the hair on the back of your neck.
On the subject of superdelegates, I see that US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has said that she would like to see fewer superdelegates in the future.
Maybe a few delegates for the winner of a state might help in the future too...instead of the proportional rules that have Democrats in this primary morass, eh?
