Nolan, Shock Top Liberty

(Sports Network) - Deanna Nolan had 26 points on 11-of-17 shooting to lead the Detroit Shock to an 83-69 victory over the New York Liberty.

Detroit remained one game behind Connecticut for the top spot in the Eastern Conference, as the Sun defeated Atlanta on Friday. With the loss, New York falls 2 1/2 games out of the top spot in the East.

Taj McWilliams-Franlin added 15 points and seven rebounds while Katie Smith recorded 14 points and six boards for the Shock, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

Janel McCarville led the Liberty in scoring with 21 points and Shameka Christon had 16 points for New York, losers of two straight. Cathrine Kraayeveld added 11 points in the loss.
