Uncasville, CT -- (Sports Network) - Taj McWilliams-Franklin poured in 18 points to lead the Connecticut Sun past the Detroit Shock, 77-68, in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals at the Mohegan Sun Arena. The victory for the Sun now forces a decisive Game 3 to be played Sunday night in Connecticut. Katie Douglas, who was expected to miss the rest of the playoffs with a hairline fracture in her right foot, started for the Sun and scored just six points, but provided an emotional boost for her club. Margo Dydek added 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the floor and was a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line for the Sun. Nykesha Sales added 15 points while Asjha Jones contributed eight points and eight rebounds off the bench in the win for Connecticut. Deanna Nolan scored a game-high 27 points and had six rebounds for Detroit, which defeated Connecticut in Game 1 on Thursday. Cheryl Ford donated 15 points and eight rebounds in the loss for the Shock, who committed 15 turnovers.Final Score: Sacramento 72, Los Angeles 58 Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Last year's Finals MVP Yolanda Griffith poured in 15 points as the defending WNBA champion Sacramento Monarchs returned to the finals with a 72-58 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks. Kara Lawson recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds, while DeMya Walker and Rebekkah Brunson each scored 10 for the Monarchs, who swept the best of three series with LA and will face either Connecticut or Detroit in the finals. Tamara Moore scored 16 points and Mwadi Mabika had 15 for the Sparks, who were forced to play their home game at Arrowhead Pond due to a scheduling conflict with the American Idol tour at the Staples Center. All-Star Lisa Leslie was limited to just 10 points. The Monarchs used a dominant first half to coast to an easy victory. Sacramento limited the Sparks to just 24 percent shooting from the floor in the first half, including an eight-point second quarter. For the game, the Monarchs shot 41.3 percent from the floor and outrebounded LA 40-25.
